The St. 香港三级片 Battlehawks just took the lead with only 3:03 left 鈥� and I鈥檓 running across the field.

As I hustle to the Battlehawks sideline at the Dome at America鈥檚 Center, the crowd roar engulfs me, and the kickoff team walks toward me onto the same green turf.

Last Saturday, I had a unique experience during the Battlehawks鈥� huge win against Birmingham, the defending champions. Fox Sports let me shadow their award-winning sideline reporter Jenny Taft so I could witness and capture the on-the-field and sidelines scenes (and, if you will, the behind-the-scenes scenes).

The sideline is swirling as players weave around you, coaches shout and there鈥檚 the occasional fright from a freight train of an oncoming pair of players, while one tackles the other and accelerates past the sideline.

At one point, a Birmingham cornerback started shouting at the St. 香港三级片 sideline 鈥� linebacker Travis Feeney barked back some trash talk and, as the game would play out, got the last laugh.

鈥淛ust the raw emotion,鈥� said Brooks Clark, a broadcast associate for Fox who worked the sideline, 鈥渋s cool and fun and powerful.鈥�

On the Birmingham sideline, receiver Deon Cain playfully touched the shaved dome of quarterback J鈥橫ar Smith and announced: 鈥淩ub the bald head for good luck!鈥� And late in the game, as the public address system played 鈥淐ountry Roads, Take Me Home,鈥� Battlehawks receiver Gary Jennings 鈥� who played at West Virginia 鈥� started singing along.

The sensory I鈥檒l always remember is when Battlehawks players would suddenly turn around from the sideline and lift their arms to the fans. And before I could even turn around to see the crowd, you could hear 鈥� and feel 鈥� this instant rising roar that sounds like a bass drum and rattles your eardrums.

The whole game experience was all exhilarating 鈥� and exhausting, as we continually scurried across the field to be with the team that made the latest big play.

As the UFL tries to carve a niche in the sports landscape, one of the coolest things it provides is access. That鈥檚 access for the fans via technology (cameras literally on the front of jerseys and drones flying above each play) and through real-time information.

And that鈥檚 where Taft comes in.

She鈥檚 the recent winner of a Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. And as a sideline reporter for the Fox broadcast, 鈥淚鈥檓 allowed to go wherever, talk to whoever,鈥� Taft said.

And so, during the game, we roamed the sideline 鈥� and literally walked up to players. During the game! Taft sat on the bench next to quarterback Max Duggan and he described a touchdown while showing her 鈥� and the audience 鈥� the video pad of the play. She chatted with 6-foot-6 Birmingham offensive lineman Barry Wesley, who shared that several players got sick on the Friday flight amid the turbulence caused by the tornado in St. 香港三级片. And she stopped Birmingham head coach Skip Holtz 鈥� again, midgame! 鈥� to ask him why he didn鈥檛 go for it on a fourth down (鈥淎ll that work to get down there, I can鈥檛 risk not coming away with points,鈥� he said of the field goal).

My first 鈥渨hoa, what access!鈥� moment was early in the game, after Birmingham鈥檚 first touchdown. The Stallions鈥� kicker was Harrison Mevis, the famous football foot from Mizzou. Well, his ensuing kickoff was fumbled. Who got it? It was so hard to tell. While everyone awaited the outcome, Mevis ran back to the sideline and said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 ours! It鈥檚 ours!鈥� Shortly after, the crowd booed as the official announced what Mevis already told us.

Later in the first quarter, St. 香港三级片鈥� Feeney walked up to Taft and me (well, to Taft). The linebacker expressed his passionate opinion about a certain call by the official. After a Battlehawks punt, a frustrated Feeney said to Taft: 鈥淲atch this.鈥�

And on the very first play, Feeney forced a fumble and recovered it.

鈥淭hat was crazy!鈥� Taft said.

Taft yearns to tell seldom-told stories during her on-air stints 鈥� 鈥淵ou鈥檙e not in the game all that much, so you better make it count,鈥� she said.

For instance, the Birmingham quarterback Smith, as recently as late April, was working at a Dunkin鈥� Donuts. He had stopped playing football but was still working out at night to stay in shape. Sure enough, Birmingham had a quarterback crisis in early May and brought him in. And he won a football game the week prior to playing St. 香港三级片.

When we made that mad dash with 3:03 left, the Battlehawks had just snatched the lead 29-28 with a touchdown 鈥� there were six lead changes on this dizzying day. So I watched the final minutes from the St. 香港三级片 sideline.

You could smell the anticipation.

And the sweat. Lots of sweat.

There were 30,114 fans in attendance, and you just feel them more from the field than you do in the stands. During a late timeout, lineman Steven Gonzalez started orchestrating fan cheers with the panache of a music conductor. Teammate Chase Allen, who is from Nixa in southwest Missouri, excitedly walked near the crowd and pointed at individual fans to increase their volume.

In the final minute, the bald Birmingham signal-caller Smith ran out of luck. He marched his team toward midfield, but with 28 seconds left 鈥� and his team down one point 鈥� running back C.J. Marable spilled the marble. Sure enough, it was Feeney who forced the fumble. St. 香港三级片 recovered, and the sideline erupted with hoarse hooting and hollering.

Feeney ran over to the exuberant stands, where streamers and spilled beer were flying. He turned to the sideline Fox camera and screamed: 鈥淚鈥檓 going to introduce myself to the world today, baby!鈥�

Feeney finished the day with five tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and two forced fumbles.

鈥淚 think the whole just evolution of Feeney on the sideline was really cool,鈥� Taft said after. 鈥淗e and I were kind of talking throughout the game, and then the way he kind of was the dominant force to end the game and help them seal the win, I thought that was really cool. And intimate. Like, I鈥檒l remember that for a while. And it just kind of speaks to the access with he and I were chatting all game. ... So just the image of him celebrating with the fans after they had won was pretty special to me.

鈥淚 was really happy for St 香港三级片, and the image of the fans will also really stick in my brain because I鈥檝e covered now, that was my fifth UFL game, and by far, as expected, St. 香港三级片 fans were the best. It was the loudest environment.鈥�
